Kenora Bed 'n' Bale is tucked into the Boreal forest, in the heart of Kenora, on our small urban farm. You won't believe you are only a mile from downtown.
We are a small, quiet destination, perfect for families and retirees who want a glimpse of homesteading. If you love animals, this is the spot for you. We have horses, dogs, cats, goats, sheep, poultry and more. The animals are friendly and welcome vacationers to their year-round home.
NOTE: We are a family spot - not a party spot. One family per site.
Unplug and unwind! Kids love seeing our horses and farm animals, and swimming at the small, quiet, natural sand beach only a 3-minute hike from our back gate. A top-notch public beach is a 20-min hike or 5-min drive, with a playground, pickleball courts, and the Rowing Club. Lake of the Woods is only a mile away and boasts some of the best fishing anywhere - pickerel/walleye, jack/northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, musky and more!
Compare our rates with other resorts in the area, and you will find we are quite reasonable, especially considering our location provides the best of city, forest, and beach, with a rural atmosphere. Use of our kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, fishing rods, games tent and more are included in your stay, PLUS free firewood for you to enjoy campfires.
Glamping - Glamorous Camping
Our glamping bunkies are new but rustic (no plumbing), with air conditioner / heater, comfy real beds, BBQ & basic cookware, mini fridge/freezer, parking for one passenger vehicle. Most tiny cabins sleep 1 - 4 people. Group camping is available for multiple families who want to stay near each other - see Sites 15-16, and Site 18. Check each listing for occupancy and amenities.
Shower House with flush toilets, showers and sinks, and the outdoor shower are near the cabins. The charming outhouse is open year-round, for cold-weather bunkie guests who enjoy snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, skating and other winter activities.
Wifi is available for light surfing (not big uploads or downloads or streaming). Strong 4G signal for hot spotting.
Firepit area is in our new Log Pergola, and firewood is provided at no additional cost. Sites 15, 16 and 18 have their own firepits.
Our parking lot has room to safely park your boat or horse trailer or U-Haul. Our property is fenced and gated, locked up securely at night, with security cameras at the gates. We live on-site with our dogs and other animals, year-round.
